Burrage, Henry S. MAINE IN THE NORTHEASTERN BOUNDRY CONTROVERSY Portland Maine Printed for the State of Maine, 1919 1919 First Edition VG+ A very nice copy, just a bit of light general wear. Included are 2 early pamplets relating to the boundary controversy. Both are from disbound books and each is complete. The first is the speech given by John Holmes of Alfred to the Maine house of representatives on February 2, 1837, printed by the state at that time, 20 pages. The second is the text of a speech delivered by Mr. Buchanan of Pennsylvannia on the ratification of the treaty with great britain, delivered in the US Senate on August 19, 1842. Both pamplets are somewhat foxed with edgewear and a few folds. The pamplets are scarce. ; 8vo 8" - 9" tall; 398 pages; VG+, no DJ, blue cloth, wear at top and bottom of spine, minor spotting, edges slightly foxed/spotted, some interior pages also show light spotting/foxing, but overall clean and bright.
